Using the right images
Using good photos and images on your website or in your app is key! It gives a better impression of your school if you use good photos, you can play with different colors and extra footage that ensures and extra experience. Our customers often find it difficult to find good images for their app or website. We are happy to give you some tips to get you started!
If you make or have made photo material yourself, keep the following in mind:
- For our apps and websites we advise you to use landscape photos instead of portrait. Images are scaled from the middle and cut if necessary. It is therefore important that what you like on the photo, is positioned in the middle of the image.
- It is not recommended to use images that contain text, as it can sometimes be lost when cutting the photo. Text can always be added to the corresponding message.
- Try to keep in mind that you select an image of at least 1600 pixels (height or width). Of course it is always good to use a larger image (up to 2400 pixels). If you choose a photo of a small size, it will be enlarged and the quality of the photo will not be correct.
- If you want to fill your app or website with additional images that match the atmosphere of your school, you can always use stock photos. These are photos that you can find in an image bank. Often this is paid, but we know a few free alternatives. Pixabay is one that we often use, but on Picjumbo there are also free photos of good quality.
Please note that images from Google can not be used. Also images with a watermark are not allowed to publish in your app or on your website. If you use a paid stock photo unlawfully, you may be notified and the image of the site must be removed.
